Wildlife Events 2008

The following are events at which Tayside Police Wildlife Crime Officers with be in attendance during 2008. Those marked in red are public events and we would be pleased to have you visit the stand.


Wednesday 7 May
Presentation of prizes to winners of Schools Wildlife Crime Project in Auditorium, Scottish Natural Heritage, Battleby, Perth

Starts at 1100 hours and finishes around 1300 hours after a press call and a buffet lunch. Presentations by DCC and Alan Stewart. This is the award ceremony to the winners of the Tayside Police Wildlife Crime Project run in conjunction with primary schools in Tayside and sponsored by Dobbies Garden World and Scottish Natural Heritage. There will be about 80 winning pupils plus a parent attending.

Wildlife Crime Roadshow at Loch of the Lowes

To coincide with the hatching of the ospreys - public welcome.

Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June
Wildlife Crime Roadshow at Dobbies Garden World, Monifieth

Part of Dobbies Wildlife Week. The attendance of Tayside Police wildlife crime officers at this event links in with part of Dobbies Wildlife Week. The officers will be available to discuss wildlife and environmental crime issues, to display examples of wildlife crime and will be running an exciting project with prizes for young people - public welcome.

Sunday 15 June
Wildlife Crime Roadshow at Countryside Rangers Seashore Festival, Broughty Castle

The officers will be available to discuss wildlife and environmental crime issues, to display examples of wildlife crime and will be running an exciting project with prizes for young people - public welcome.

Friday 4 to Sunday 6 July
Tayside Police/Grampian Police/PAW/Campaign against Pesticide Abuse dual wildlife crime stands at Game Fair, Scone Palace, Perth

This is one of Scotland's leading countryside events, at which Tayside Police wildlife crime officers, along with Grampian Police, the Partnership for Action against Wildlife Crime and the Campaign against Pesticide Abuse will have a large joint stand and will be available to discuss wildlife and environmental crime issues. There will also be examples of wildlife crime and an exciting project with prizes for young people - all welcome.

Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September
Wildlife crime stand at Scotland's Countryside Festival, Glamis Castle

This is a relatively new and rapidly expanding countryside event at which the main emphasis is on education. Tayside Police wildlife crime officers have a ringside stand and will be available to discuss wildlife and environmental crime issues. There will also be examples of wildlife crime and an exciting project with prizes for young people - all welcome.

Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September
Wildlife crime stand at the Scottish Nature Photography Fair, SNH, Battleby, Perth

This event features work of leading nature photographers from the UK and beyond. Tayside Police wildlife crime officers will be present and will be pleased to assist with wildlife and environmental crime issues. For further information contact SNH at 01738 444177. Ticket only – book through SNH.
