Section 1 covers all of the commercial city centre area of the City together with a significant part of what is traditionally referred to as the 'west-end' of the city from Nethergate to the Sinderins. This area covers most of the campus areas of the University of Dundee and the University of Abertay Dundee along with considerable areas of private and council owned housing. 
City Centre Police Office, Crichton Street (Click for map) The Section is staffed by an Inspector, 6 Sergeants and in the region of 60 Constables. The majority of officers work from the City Centre Police Office (CCPO) in Crichton Street with the remainder operating from Ryehill sub-station in Pennycook Lane. The City Centre Police Office is open to the public and covered by a member of support staff from 0830 - 1600 Monday to Friday. At other times there is a telephone facility to call the Force Control Room for assistance.
