Inspector Kenneth Hart is the senior officer in charge of this area.

He is assisted by four Sergeants.

The Montrose & Brechin section covers an area stretching from the East Coast of Angus to the vast rural area of Glenesk.

The section is unique in policing terms as it includes a number of varied elements that provide officers with a wide policing experience. These include two main towns, the A90 trunk road, the east coast rail line, a commercial sea port, two main rivers, two professional football grounds, Sunnyside hospital, Rossie young persons secure accommodation and a border with the Grampian Police area.

Crimes and offences are reported to the Procurators Fiscal at Arbroath and Forfar and custody facilities are utilised at the main Divisional suite at Arbroath Police Office.

A public CCTV system, monitored from Divisional Headquarters, Forfar covers the main public thoroughfares in Montrose and Brechin and a mobile CCTV unit is utilised throughout the section.

Section Officers work closely with locally elected members, six Community Councils and local partnerships ensuring relevant issues are addressed effectively.
