The Web Development Unit is responsible for Tayside Police's e-policing initiatives. These include The Unit works closely with divisions and departments throughout the force to ensure that the content of this site is useful and up to date. Working alongside the Media Relations Officers in the Force Media Office means that news releases and appeals for information can be published immediately online.

Screenshot of the Tayside Police website As the unit is responsible for all technical aspects of the website's development as well as the content, the site is continually updated with new sections and features. Recent innovations include
  • RSS News Feeds - Users can subscribe to data feeds of our news and appeals pages so that they are alerted when any new items are posted to the site.
  • Traffic and Travel Information - Details of roadworks, safety camera locations and poor weather conditions are posted to the site. The Force Control Room have the ability to update the website 24 hours a day with details of road closures and extreme weather warnings.
  • Video - We have experimented with online video and are continuing to add to the pages that contain video messages.
