REMIT

The Appointments Sub Committee has delegated powers with the following remit :

1. To establish the arrangements for recruitment and appointment of Chief Officers;

2. To maintain a programme of succession planning with officers of the Board;

3. To implement the necessary measures to address any vacancy intimated to the Clerk to the Board; and

4. To short list, interview and offer appointment to candidates whom they determine meet the criteria for respective posts.


MEMBERSHIP

In terms of paragraph 10 of the Amalgamation Scheme and Standing Order 39, the Board may appoint such Sub-Committees as it considers necessary.

With reference to paragraph 5 Minute of Meeting of Tayside Joint Police Board of 21 April 2008 wherein it was agreed that the Appointments Sub Committee would comprise 6 members (2 from Dundee City Council, 2 from Angus Council and 2 from Perth and Kinross Council) as follows :

Councillor Ian Mackintosh, Convener
Bailie George Regan, Vice Convener
Councillor Archibald MacLellan, Vice Convener
Councillor Bob Myles
Councillor Alexander Stewart
Bailie Helen Wright

This Sub Committee will be convened as agreed by the Tayside Joint Police Board
