This Model Publication Scheme is approved for at least four years (to February 2008) but is subject to revocation under Section 24(3)(b) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 by the Scottish Information Commissioner on six months notice.

The approved Model Scheme for Chief Constables under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 covers the following Scottish Police Forces -

Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary
Fife Constabulary
Grampian Police
Lothian and Borders Police
Northern Constabulary
Strathclyde Police
Tayside Police

It does not cover -

Scottish Police College (SPC)
Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency (SCDEA)
Scottish Criminal Records Office (SCRO)
Scottish Police Information Strategy (SPIS)

which are under the Scottish Ministers, nor the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland which is not a public body under Schedule 1 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

The Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland however, have indicated that they will comply with the spirit of the legislation and any enquiries for the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland should be directed to
