The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 requires a Publication Scheme to specify the classes of information the public authority already publishes or intends to publish. Our intention is to publish as much information as possible.

Please note the classes and categories of information contained in the scheme may contain exempt information which the Chief Constable may not make available under the scheme (see exemptions and non-disclosure for further details).

Tayside Police is committed to delivering an open and transparent service whenever possible and it is our intention to include within our Publication Scheme information which we believe would be of interest to the public. It must be remembered that Tayside Police is committed to protecting the communities we serve and to preventing and detecting crime and it must be recognised that certain information should not be disclosed. Information concerning ongoing investigations, investigative methods, intelligence and the use of related operational techniques must be protected. They are central to the maintenance of a safe and just society. In this respect, Tayside Police will apply a reasonable considerationto the use of appropriate exemptions afforded under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, particularly Section 34 (Investigations by Scottish Public Authorities), Section 35 (Law Enforcement), Section 36 (Information Provided in Confidence) and Section 38 (Personal Information).

We will publish under the classes listed in the menu to the right. Freedom of Information FOI logo
