Fudge runs non-stop! The force's specialist search dogs are Labradors, Springer Spaniels and a German Wire Haired Pointer.

Four of these dogs have been trained to search for the main categories of unlawful drugs and in addition one scans and indicates people carrying unlawful drugs.

The other two specialist dogs have been trained to search for explosives.

The length of initial training they undergo can vary depending upon the specialist role they are being trained for. All of these dogs will also undergo regular training and along with their handlers must also be relicensed anually.
